An Economy That Works for Working Families

Tennesseans work hard. It’s time our government worked just as hard for them.

Jerri Green will:

  • End the grocery tax, and put the tax back on corporations
  • Expand paid family and medical leave
  • Support labor rights and collective bargaining
  • Provide state grants for local energy storage to keep household electric bills from spiking in extreme weather.
  • Increase funding for affordable housing
  • Promote workforce development and vocational training
  • Invest in small businesses, especially in underserved areas
  • Make quality childcare more accessible and affordable
  • Prioritize passenger rail across the state to connect major metropolitan hubs
  • Implement pre-apprenticeship curriculum in schools
Health care access

Public Education That Works for All

We fund what we value—and it’s time Tennessee starts valuing public schools again.

Jerri Green will:

  • Fully fund K-12 public education—not siphon dollars into unaccountable voucher schemes
  • Raise teacher pay and restore respect to the profession
  • Expand access to school counselors, nurses, and support staff
  • Protect honest, inclusive education—not censorship and political theater
  • Invest in universal pre-K, special education, and rural schools
  • Launch Public Service Year Program for high school graduates
  • Waive GED testing fees and take testing to all corners of the state
  • Start a dedicated childcare and early education fund, to include investments in afterschool and summer care programming for households making less than $75K a year
  • Ensure every public high school provides mental health screenings any parent can opt their child into
  • Set up a Special Education Equity Fund to ensure no students fall through the cracks as the Trump Administration cuts critical services for students with disabilities and special needs
  • Set up a “Teach Every Student” fellowship to encourage more teachers to go into special education
  • Use all possible medicaid dollars within schools to make sure students have the supports they need
Public education

Health Care as a Right, Not a Luxury

No one should go bankrupt or die because they live in the wrong ZIP code.

Jerri Green will:

  • Expand Medicaid to cover more working families and keep rural hospitals open
  • Protect and improve TennCare
  • Defend reproductive freedom and the right to choose
  • Support maternal health equity—especially for Black women
  • Invest in mental health services and addiction recovery
  • Legalize marijuana medicinally and recreationally to increase treatment options for people with chronic illnesses and decrease reliance on opioids
  • Lower prescription drug costs for Tennessee families
  • Put an end to hidden middleman markups on medications
  • Ensure patients, not corporations, benefit from drug price savings
  • Bring transparency and accountability to prescription drug pricing
Public education

Support for Families, Parents, and Caregivers

Families are the foundation of our state. They deserve policies that reflect that.

Jerri Green will:

  • Make child care affordable and accessible
  • Expand home visiting programs and early childhood development support
  • Provide paid leave to parents and caregivers
  • Support elder care programs for aging family members
  • Lift families out of poverty—not punish them with cruel cuts to SNAP or housing aid
  • Create a stipend program to offer free diapers to low-income parents
  • End the tax on diapers and menstrual products
  • Use TANF funds to eliminate millions in medical debt for low-income families
Support for working families

Supporting Those Who Have Served Our Country

The debt we owe our service members doesn’t end when the uniform comes off.

Jerri Green will:

  • Renovate vacant state-owned housing into veteran-priority units

  • Coordinate with local nonprofits to increase focus on veteran homelessness prevention

  • Strengthen mental health outreach and peer-counselor networks for veterans

  • Incentivize companies to hire veterans via tax credits or apprenticeship subsidies

  • Streamline the transfer of military credentials or training into state-recognized civilian licensure

  • Foster veteran-owned business development, including by eliminating small business start-up fees for veterans

  • Reduce property taxes based on percentage of service-connected disability

A Future Farmers Can Count On

Our dinner tables depend on their hard work. Their livelihoods deserve our unwavering support.

Jerri Green will:

  • Advocate for fair trade policies that protect Tennessee’s crops and livestock from unfair foreign competition

  • Provide targeted relief for small and midsized family farms — not corporate agribusiness

  • Ensure state-level emergency protections for farmers hit hardest by drought and market swings

  • Invest in rural infrastructure, including roads, broadband, and water systems so that farmers can grow, sell, and compete

Crockett County

Government That Works for the People

Transparency. Integrity. No-nonsense leadership. That’s how Jerri operates.

Jerri Green will:

  • Launch an online “Report Card” where Tennesseans can track state contracts and grants in plain language, and see where the money goes, what it’s supposed to deliver, and whether it actually does.
  • Appoint qualified, ethical leaders—not political cronies
  • Not use special-called sessions to push political agendas
  • Fight for protections, resources, and policies that lift up marginalized communities, including Black, Immigrant, and LGBTQ+ communities, women, People of Color, and people with disabilities.
Environmental stewardship

Environmental Stewardship for Future Generations

We don’t inherit the earth from our ancestors—we borrow it from our children.

Jerri Green will:

  • Protect Tennessee’s rivers, forests, farmland, and public lands from pollution and overdevelopment
  • Enforce clean air and water standards, especially in marginalized communities
  • Invest in renewable energy and green jobs
  • Prepare communities for climate resilience and disaster recovery—and won’t tie disaster relief funding to voucher schemes or other political efforts that impede efficient and life-saving response
Environmental stewardship

Gun Safety to Protect Our Kids and Our Communities

We can honor the Second Amendment and still pass laws that keep our children safe.

Jerri Green will:

  • Require universal background checks on all gun sales
  • Implement red flag laws to prevent gun violence before it happens
  • Close domestic violence loopholes
  • Provide free gun locks and safe storage education statewide
  • Re-implement training and testing for responsible gun ownership, especially for conceal carry permits
Support for working families

and Standing Up For Marginalized Communities

We will stand in the gap and fight for marginalized communities’ right to exist and thrive.

  • Restore access to reproductive health care, including contraception and emergency care
  • Protect IVF and miscarriage management from state interference
  • Require every public college in the state to provide for women’s health and reproductive needs
  • Fight against and veto all anti-LGBTQ+ legislation
  • Provide grant funding to non-profits serving LGBTQ+ populations to provide affordable housing, healthcare, mental health services, and more
  • Ensure there are LGBTQ+ affirming counselors in every high school
  • Expand free HIV testing by mail program statewide
  • Sign an executive order DAY ONE to end local and state law enforcement cooperation with ICE
  • End the National Guard deployment in Memphis and reject further deployments throughout the state
  • Sign an executive order to ban ICE from entering state buildings, and prevent any Governor’s administration appointees or employees from sharing personal identifying information or immigration status with federal immigration agents
  • Allocate state funds for legal representation for immigrants facing deportation and to provide know your rights information to immigrant and refugee communities
  • Issue guidance through the Department of Labor to all businesses and workers on their rights regarding ICE access to workplaces
A future worth fighting for

A Human-First AI Agenda

AI should should serve our communities—not the other way around.

Jerri Green will:

  • Implement AI literacy in classrooms to teach kids to spot deepfakes and protect their mental health
  • Fine large corporations that replace 25 or more workers with AI to pay for local job retraining
  • Protect your electric bill by making sure families don’t pay for the massive power needs of AI centers
  • Save our drinking water by requiring tech companies to cool their servers with recycled water
  • Ban landlords from using AI software to coordinate and hike your rent
  • Guarantee your right to an appeal to a human if an AI denies you a job, an apartment, or medical care
  • Take back tax breaks from any company that replaces promised Tennessee jobs with robots
  • Keep AI out of our courts by banning its use in bail, sentencing, or parole decisions
  • Stop AI companies from running polluting, unpermitted power plants in our neighborhoods
  • Make AI companies put digital watermarks in their metadata to track down deceptive or illegal content
A human-first AI agenda

Supporting Local Cities and Towns

Main Street shouldn’t have to compete with Wall Street for a seat at the table.

Jerri Green will:

  • Hold regular meetings with municipal leaders to understand local priorities.
  • Advocate for local governments to retain the ability to make responsible fiscal and policy decisions based on community needs.
  • Reject state-imposed caps on local property taxes that could limit a city’s ability to maintain services and infrastructure.
  • Restoring the historic practice of sharing the final 1% of the sales tax with cities and towns.
  • Ensuring municipalities receive their fair share of state revenue.
  • Providing communities with additional resources to maintain infrastructure, fund public safety, and reduce pressure to increase property taxes.
Supporting local cities and towns

Sounds good, but how are you going to pay for it?

NO TAX INCREASES NECESSARY. JUST COMMON SENSE SOLUTIONS

We don't need to ask everyday Tennesseans to pay more—we just need leadership that makes corporations pay their fair share and puts public dollars to good use.
